Trail Magic
One of the nice things we get to experience
while walking the AT is what is commonly referred to as "trail
magic." Some times it consists merely of drinking water in gallon jugs
left in a crate by the trail. The other day a couple by the last name of Burton
left a cooler full of goodies and a case of half liter bottles of water in a
parking lot. They put a sign by the trail to make sure hikers would not miss
their gift.
The picture with this blog was made
by Adam as we experienced
some very special trail magic. We met Maria and Gary as they walked hand in
hand along the AT. I gave them one of the cards my daughter-in-love made up for
me to hand out as we hike. The card directs people to my blog and FB
page. The conversation that ensued led them to invite us to share their picnic
with them. They spread a blanket right on the trail and placed all their
goodies out. We helped ourselves and had great conversation while eating.
So Maria and Gary, if you read this
post please receive our sincere thanks.
Trail Magic. A neat way to
bless weary travelers. May our Lord grant all of us the eyes to see how we, as
serious followers of Jesus, can bless others in every day life.
